§ 2.6. Term Limitations for Mayor and Council Members

  • No person may serve more than two consecutive four-year terms as Mayor. No person may serve more than two consecutive four-year terms as a Council Member. The term limits specified in this section take effect with the 2020 regular election. No person serving as Mayor or as a Council Member at the time of the regular election in 2020 that will have served two consecutive four-year terms under this section is eligible to be a candidate for Mayor or Council Member at the 2020 regular election.
